Life is a lesson:
Encase thy heart beneath thy rib cage, that's the lesson that I have learned.
If you're to fall in love, first fall hard, then find someone to stabilize your balance, that's the lesson that I have learned.
Cherish your imperfection, laugh at your wrongdoings, and mess up twice as bad before making amends, that's the lesson that I have learned.
Laugh WITH friends, laugh AT friends, and be laughed at BY friends and acknowledge that no matter how bad you look, they're just as bad if not worse (but I think I'M worse, oh well), that's the lesson that I have learned.
No matter how strong, your friends can scar just as deep, that's the lesson that I have learned.
No matter how bad your deed, true friends can forgive but know that you should NEVER forget!!, that's the lesson that I have learned.
"Good times" had in the moment might mean prolonged grief in the eternity, that's the lesson that I have learned.
Let not your past deeds brand you, but rather let them strengthen who you are (and who you'll become), that's the lesson that I have learned.
Don't make pity(ful) an adjective of your persona, but a verb to act of on past oppressors, that's the lesson that I have learned. BETTER YET, REFRAIN FROM PITY and instead adopt empathy.
Never chase, chastise, or chat with ties that have binded loved ones in tangled webs, that's the lesson that I have learned.
Love wholly, purely and never give up your heart (or yourself/ your self) for the "like," that's the lesson that I have learned.
Look back on thy past not with contempt but with an eye to learn and embrace each new day as an opportunity to redeem past mistakes, that's the lesson that I have learned.
Forget not that thy hand writes thy ceasing destiny which changes unceasingly, that's the lesson that I continue to learn. |
